LITTLE ROCK - Former U.S. Attorney and candidate for the U.S. Senate Conner Eldridge today released a web video, "Working for Arkansas." The video features testimonials from hardworking Arkansans, in which they express frustration with current Washington dysfunction, making the case for a strong, new voice in Arkansan and former prosecutor Conner Eldridge. "Conner Eldridge...understands what Arkansans are going through, and we're looking for someone to project our voice," says Joey Prince, an Arkansas Boilermaker apprentice.
"There is a fundamental difference of opinion in this race on what it means to be a U.S. Senator," said Eldridge. "My opponent has shown what he believes the job to be: go up to Washington, forget about the people he represents, and take up space while not really doing anything. Well, I believe a U.S. Senator should travel and engage with the people of this state, listen to their voices and stories, and then go to Washington and fight every day to stand up for them and their families. The people of this state are hungry for that leadership, and I am ready to be a strong, new voice for Arkansas."
The three-minute web video highlights what Eldridge calls a centerpiece of his campaign, his "HearARVoices" road tour. The road tour, which has already taken Eldridge to all 75 Arkansas counties, emphasizes listening to everyday, hardworking Arkansans -- whether at gas stations, hardware stores, or courthouses -- and earning their votes.
"As I travel the state and I listen to Arkansans, I hear unique, inspiring stories, but I also hear a range of problems with one common theme: Washington isn't listening," said Eldridge. "Whether voting for bad trade deals or not standing up for Arkansas workers, Sen Boozman consistently has shown he is not in tune with the real concerns the working people of Arkansas have. My opponent's disengaged, absent approach isn't enough for this state. The people of Arkansas deserve a Senator who will work as hard as they do."
