LITTLE ROCK - Former U.S. Attorney and candidate for the U.S. Senate Conner Eldridge today announced U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota will visit Arkansas this week to campaign with Eldridge across the state. In a packed schedule, Senator Heitkamp will spend Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday meeting with voters, community leaders, and officials around Arkansas.
The three-day visit will focus on communities and issues that both Senator Heitkamp and Eldridge have focused on in their work – Homeland Security, Agriculture, Small Businesses and Victim Prevention and Advocacy.

"We are very excited to welcome Sen. Heitkamp to Arkansas," said Eldridge. "I find her no-nonsense, get-it-done approach to her work as a United States Senator exactly what we need more of in this country. I'm eager to share with her firsthand my love of Arkansas, and to talk with her about the many commonalities between our two states, what has been holding us back, and what we can accomplish for Arkansas working together in the U.S. Senate."

"During my time in the U.S. Senate, I've learned that it's easier to get things done when you have people who are willing to roll up their sleeves to find commonsense solutions that support families, communities, and businesses across the country," said Heitkamp. "That's why I'm excited to be in Arkansas this week with Conner - his solutions-oriented experience as a former U.S. Attorney fighting for those who are most vulnerable and making sure Arkansas communities are safe is what we need more of in the U.S. Senate. Conner has the passion, drive, and determination to get things done for Arkansas, and I look forward to talking with voters and community leaders across the state about how he would be a voice for Arkansans in the U.S. Senate."

In an election where pundits said it couldn’t be done, Heitkamp pulled off a late-breaking, surprise victory in 2012, becoming the first woman elected a U.S. Senator in North Dakota. Her committees currently include Agriculture, Banking, Homeland Security and Government Affairs, Small Business and Entrepreneurship and Indian Affairs.
