U.S. Senate Candidate Eldridge Releases Statement on Baton Rouge Shooting

by Conner for Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK – Former U.S. Attorney and candidate for the U.S. Senate Conner Eldridge today released a statement regarding the recent shooting in Baton Rouge that left three law enforcement officers dead and at least three others wounded.

Statement from Conner Eldridge:

"The news out of Baton Rouge that we've lost three officers with others wounded is horrific and gut-wrenching. On the heels of other recent shootings, including Dallas, Orlando, St. Paul, and the previous Baton Rouge incident, it is clear that serious threats and serious issues need to be confronted. I'm proud to have worked with law enforcement for years as a prosecutor. They put their lives on the line for us, and it is reprehensible that anyone would seek to harm them. I continue to stand with law enforcement as we confront the ongoing targeting of officers, and I also stand with communities and people of all races and backgrounds as we seek to deal with the serious tensions that must be confronted."
