LITTLE ROCK - Former U.S. Attorney and candidate for the U.S. Senate Conner Eldridge today visited the Henderson Middle School Welcome Back ceremony in Little Rock. While there, Eldridge highlighted his support for opportunities at all levels of education -- from pre-K to college, saying we must seek to make education more accessible to all in Arkansas. Eldridge's opponent, Sen. Boozman, was also extended an invitation to the event but declined to attend.

"As families send their children back to school this week, it's important to remember that the key to empowering future generations is a quality education," said Eldridge. "As Mary Elizabeth and I send our three boys back to school, my thoughts are with the hardworking educators who dedicate themselves to the future of our children. Being at Henderson Middle School today, I want to thank all of the people who dedicate themselves to education -- it makes a tremendous difference in the lives of these kids."

According to school officials, Eldridge's opponent, Sen. Boozman, was also extended an invitation to the Middle School Welcome Back Event but declined to attend. Eldridge said there are differences in priorities in the U.S. Senate race, especially when it comes to the topic of education.

"We must support educational endeavors at every turn -- whether it's pre-K, grade school, vocational training, or college -- I will work to make educational opportunities available to all who seek them. I fully support making pre-K readily available to parents who wish to use it. I also believe vocational training programs and college education should be made more accessible to all, and I will work hard every day to see that this happens. My opponent feels differently -- he doesn't support access to pre-K and he has voted against making college more affordable for our young adults. Supporting these programs is a crucial step in developing the communities we wish to see in the future of our state."
