U.S. Senate Candidate Eldridge Releases Video Demonstrating Trump's "Dangerous Nonsense"

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., May 10, 2016  – Conner Eldridge, former prosecutor and U.S. Attorney, running for the U.S. Senate in Arkansas, today released the second in a series of web videos that feature disturbing comments from Donald Trump, the “presumptive nominee” of the Republican Party. The second video --released a week after the campaign’s first video “Harassment” garnered national attention-- features shocking footage of statements made by Mr. Trump in regards to America’s foreign policy, veterans, and nuclear proliferation.

Titled “Dangerous Nonsense,” the video demonstrates the risks of Donald Trump’s poor judgment.  The words “Dangerous,” “Nonsense” and “Arrogance” are featured in the ad alongside Trump’s statements.  "Dangerous" further underscores the silence from Senator John Boozman and his refusal to tell voters whether or not he stands in agreement with Mr. Trump’s hateful and dangerous rhetoric.

Trump’s comments are juxtaposed with Boozman’s statement that he would support Trump as the Republican presidential nominee because “it certainly would be a lot better presidency.” The ad closes with strong words from Eldridge condemning Trump and those who enable him by refusing to stand up to him. “It’s wrong to stand-by and be silent and not participate in this discussion. I am not afraid to stand up and that’s why I’m running for the Senate. That’s what our Country and our state need.”

Statement from Conner Eldridge

“It has been eight days since we called on Senator Boozman to condemn Donald Trump’s offensive statements. A United States Senator should have the courage to stand up and do what is right,” stated Eldridge. “One cannot look at this collection of statements by Donald Trump and not be appalled. It would appear Senator Boozman is the exception to the rule.”

“Instead,” Eldridge continued, “Senator Boozman is an enabler of Donald Trump’s reprehensible conduct. For John Boozman to unequivocally state that he would support Donald Trump for President speaks volumes about Senator Boozman’s willingness to put partisan politics ahead of common sense.”
