LITTLE ROCK - Former U.S. Attorney and candidate for the U.S. Senate, Conner Eldridge today extended a challenge to his opponent for U.S. Senate, Sen. Boozman, to promise, if elected, to travel to all 75 counties each year he is serving as U.S. Senator. Eldridge has made it clear that one of his top priorities as U.S. Senator will be to engage with and hear from the people of Arkansas in every county across the state -- something Sen. Boozman has not done on a regular basis as U.S. Senator.
Statement from Conner Eldridge:
"It is fundamental to the job of a U.S. Senator to be engaged with Arkansans in every nook and cranny of this state. That is why in less than a year on the campaign trail I traveled to all 75 counties -- most of them twice. Once elected, that travel should not stop. I challenge Sen. Boozman to promise, if elected, to travel to all 75 counties at least once a year every year of the six-year term as Senator. That's certainly what I will do if elected and something Arkansans should expect from their Senator.
"Being engaged with and hearing from Arkansans from all over is important, and the people of Arkansas need to know they can count on their Senator to be in their county, shaking hands, and hearing their voices, so they can accurately represent them in Washington. That's what I've done in this race, and that is what I will continue to do once elected to the U.S. Senate."
"I am running to be a strong, new voice for Arkansas, put America and Arkansas over party, rhetoric, and political noise, and get results for the people of this state."
